Ssangyong has updated its mid-range SUV, the Korando, with a revised look to reflect the new ‘face’ of Ssangyong that was first seen on the Tivoli and most recently on the all-new Rexton.

It gets a new grille, revised headlights incorporating LED daytime running lights, reshaped fog lights, a new lower valance and bonnet.

On the inside, changes are limited to a new design for the steering wheel.

The Korando is available with either front-wheel or four-wheel drive and in two trims, SE and ELX. All models get air-conditioning and Bluetooth and are capable of towing up to two tonnes. ELX models get a 7.0in touchscreen infotainment system, TomTom sat nav and 18in alloy wheels.

Under the new bonnet remains the same 2.2-litre diesel engine that develops 176bhp and 295lb ft of torque. It’s fitted with a six-speed manual gearbox while a six-speed automatic is also available.

It goes on sale straight away and is priced from £17,000, a £375 price increase over the previous model. All Korandos get a five-year unlimited mileage warranty.
