New compact-SUV unveiled in Battersea, will become the second SUV offering in an expanding MG range by the end of 2017
MG Motor UK unveiled its all-new compact-SUV at the London Motor Show. Called the XS, it sits below the GS and will become the second ever MG SUV.
It’s due to hit the showroom by the end of the year, offering a choice of two engines with manual and automatic transmissions.
With an elegant look, the new model could easily be mistaken for a Mazda and has more than a passing resemblance to the much liked Hyundai iX35. It features a large grille, kicked up window line and strong design lines along its flanks.
The XS name derives from X for extra and S for SUV.
Matthew Cheyne, Head of Sales and Marketing at MG Motor UK said: “Featuring state-of-the-art driver technology and innovative design, the new model builds on our growing reputation for capability, performance and quality, positioned at a highly-affordable price – the customer gets extra, for less!”
Further details will be announced later in the year ahead of its launch.
