Formed in South Korea in 1947 by Chung Ju-Yung at the age of 32, Hyundai's global HQ remains in the country in Seoul. It has grown to become the fifth largest car manufacturer in the world, selling 4,860,049 vehicles in 2016 across 193 countries.
The firm has 15 car plants dotted over the globe with its Ulsan plant in South Korea laying claim to being the world's largest assembly plant. It's made up of five separate plant facilities on land spanning 5,000,000 square meters. The mega-plant employs over 34,000 people and produces an average of 5,600 vehicles a day.
If that's not enough, it has its own shipping port, fire station, hospital and patrol cars, all on site.
